Norma was born and raised in Montreal, Quebec where her love affair with the French language began. After receiving her Bachelor of Education with a major in French from McGill University, she taught French as second language in the English school system. She moved to the West Coast, Victoria, BC, in 1971, where she taught French immersion kindergarten and ESL.
Norma began her real estate career in 1983 when her son was ten years old. She was designated the number one realtor in Victoria, by the local real estate board in 2001.
She is passionate about visual arts, photography and languages and hopes to be fluent in Spanish soon. She is currently pursuing oil painting workshops and traveled to the French countryside to paint en plein air. Her most miraculous achievement was running two marathons in the early 80's.
She tried her hand at retirement but resumed her real estate career when her husband David Butterfield, one of the three principals behind Loreto Bay, envisioned the seaside villages now being developed. The architectural design, the natural beauty and the sustainability goals have won her over. She is committed to ensuring that life-long learning for visual arts, health and wellness becomes part of Loreto Bay.
Norma and David reside in Victoria, BC, Scottsdale, AZ, Hornby Island, BC and are currently designing a home in The Villages of Loreto Bay. |
