The Heart of Loreto
 The tallest building in the heart of the town is La Misión Nuestra Señora de Loreto, the Mission of Our Lady of Loreto. Its famous dome-topped bell tower stretches above the tops of the palm trees, calling all to her and the nearby museum and town square. Answer the call and stroll down narrow streets shaded by laurel trees whose branches intertwine overhead in arches inspired by the Mission. History, charm and character
Every trip into Loreto brings new surprises. An ancient seashell found pressed into the 300-year-old stone blocks of the Mission. The sound of mariachis filling the streets as local musicians gather in the square for Noche Bohemia, a night of local music and entertainment. A sudden splash as a pelican plummets into the sea beside the Malecón, Loreto’s surfside avenue, to catch its dinner.
